Description

The overall purpose of this edited volume is to examine the impact of changing information landscape on library services and to explore libraries as a broad foundation for interaction with information and information management in a digital environment. It is being argued that libraries need to repurpose their services and rediscover their essence to meet the challenge by the emerging information landscape. According to researchers, the advantages of the new emerging technologies in delivering online services from remote locations are obvious. Libraries are able to offer their users far more options and avenues. This in turn, provides convenience, eliminates barriers of space and isolations, saves the users time, streamlines procedures and document delivery, making communication easier. The focus of this publication, contributed by young researchers, is as how to leverage modern technologies in rediscovering the spirit of library services and expanding into newer areas. While ICT has the ability to bring dramatic changes and transform user behaviour, publication proposes to upfront some of these issues. This volume will help to understand some of the issues involved in this transformation and also add value to existing LIS literature.
